One of the most prominent authors of this era had a name that was inspired by the creator of the US National Anthem “The Star Spangled Banner.” Who is this author and what was the name of this era of writers.

The answer is wax seals! These were originally used in ancient China to replace the handwritten signatures, speeding up the process of approving or rejecting documents. Eventually, this invention moved into Europe, where these wax seals were used to identify which house the letter came from, as well as to ensure that the letter wasn’t tampered with since it was not possible to open a letter without the wax seal showing it in some form.
