The use of this object dates back to thousands of years ago in the Chinese dynasties, where this was used to replace signatures. Later, these were used to make sure that people could not read other people’s letters without making it obvious that it was opened. What is this object?

Here is the answer to yesterday’s question!

The answer is cough drops! These were originally made as soothing candies during the 1000s BC in Egypt, and as time went on, the candies included morphine and heroin since it was believed that this would suppressing the coughing at the source: the brain. After rising concerns regarding opioid dependence, these cough drops were made using menthol and other similar soothing materials instead. An example of a company that is famous for making these cough drops is Halls!

The name of these winds, alternatively called the devil winds, gets its name from river valley and Canyon that the Portola Expedition entered on Saint Anne’s feast day in 1769.
