Aurium Daily #92 - Ahem Ahem

Today's topic is medication!

This oval-shaped, sweet “medication” was originally created around 1000 BC in Egypt, and later evolved to include morphine and heroin to suppress this “illness” at the source - the brain. Eventually, after concerns regarding the opioid dependence this caused, the companies producing these began making it with menthol for its cooling effects instead. Name the “medication” discussed and for a bonus, provide an example of a company that produces this today.

Here is the answer to yesterday’s question!

The answer is the German grocery chains Aldi and Lidl. There has been an urban myth circulating for the past few decades that Aldi and Lidl were started by brothers who had a falling out and branched out; however, this is not true, and the companies were actually started by two completely separate families

As always, the answer will be released tomorrow on the next issue of Aurium Daily - until then, put your answers in the comments!

See you tomorrow!
