Aurium Daily #40 - Paintings
Today's topic is paintings!
This oil painting has a misleading name, but highlights a woman performing a simple task in the kitchen, wearing a blue cloth, working on a table covered in a blue gateleg. What painting is this?

Here is the answer to yesterday’s question!
The answer is the Guzheng and Guqin! Both are Chinese instruments, however the Guzheng is many feet wide and has 21+ strings, with moveable bridges on both sides of the instrument, making it much harder to play than the Guqin, which has only 7 strings and fixed bridges. The Guzheng was often played in public settings for entertainment throughout Chinese history, however, the Guqin was intended only for the noblemen and a very intimate audience and was used to communicate with spirits according to Taoism. These instruments - specifically the Guzheng- were the precursors to many other Asian instruments, such as the Japanese Koto.
